We’re moving a crew up to PDX!

Jim and Emma came to me through my last client and their good friends, K+M!

Jim and Emma are good friends with Kysa and Mark, and were privvy to their home buying journey. Watching their friends deal with multiple offer situations, offering more than list price, and losing out on a home or two before finding the amazing home they’re currently in. When Jim came into some money just after his friends closed on their house, it was a somewhat easy decision for him to put down roots in Portland, even if he couldn’t move up here immediately.

We spent a few months looking in depth at neighborhoods (shout out to President’s weekend for giving them the opportunity to see neighborhoods IRL with some snow on the ground)! Jim and Emma stayed with friends in Alberta and before day one was over, they were smitten! Alberta then became the goal, although we continued exploring many parts of the city, both in person and via videos when something even slightly interesting came on market.

Fast forward to mid March, a few things had fallen into place and Jim and Emma were ready to write an offer. After one practice offer, and the couple not being too sad on losing that house (it wasnt close to Alberta), the perfect home came on the market.

The house was originally built in 1909 with a single bed and bath. In 2006 it was taken down to the studs and rebuilt into the beautiful 3/2.5 it is currently. New enough that there were very few things to worry about, but with enough charm and a huge kitchen that the home just screamed to them. It was everything they imagined, and a three minute walk to those friends they stayed with in Alberta. THREE MINUTES from their ideal. They’ve already come up to enjoy the house before letting a renter have it for a bit while J+E take care of some family back at home! They can walk to everything, already made friends with a neighbor and bar owner just down the road, and I personally cant wait for these folks to move up!
